Grand Hotel chefs (their pasta dishes were great!) enjoy watching C2O people
dance (that's the DJ in the background - he was pretty cool)
Jeff Lennard (North Park University), Janet, &
Loreen at one of the Connect2One ed sessions
-
almost looks like they're working . . . cell phone and all
Steve Bartek, C2O's event photographer - was everywhere!
Sonda at the Host Committee reception booth (okay, so it was posed)
"Opening Night" found us at the St. Louis
City Museum - a truly weird and wonderful place -
from a slide over a maze (ask Cathie Scherman) to the Shoelace Factory and glass blowing demonstration
Janet, Heather Neely (RainmakerThinking), Stacey Douglas (Trinity International University), and Linda & Randy Storm (Lincoln Christian College & Seminary) enjoy a bit of food upstairs in the museum . . .
. . . meanwhile down in the "grotto" other IACS
members find music and dancing - as Lori Filby (Dominican University), Cathie
Scherman (McHenry County College), Kathy O'Brien (Moraine Valley College),
& Jeff demonstrate.
Okay, it's a dark photo,
but maybe you can see Cathie, Lynne Durin (Kishwaukee College), Stacey,
Lori,
Madge Buchholz (College of Lake County), and Kathy O in the far right pic.
Follett's "Sweet Night" found Cathie chatting
with
Christy Monroe (Follett Higher Education Group) - ohhh, the sugar rush!
How many ice cream sandwiches, Cathie? 2? 3? 3½? 4?
At the Second General Session we were privileged to hear astronaut/cosmonaut Jerry M. Linenger talk about his truly amazing adventure and experiences of five months on Russian space station MIR. Very personal and very inspiring, Linenger shared a variety of principles and lessons he learned while separated from his pregnant wife and young son. Stacey was honored to get a picture with him.
Copies of his book Letters from MIR: An Astronaut's Letters to His Son (McGraw-Hill, 2002) were given out to session attendees, and Linenger and his son John, to whom the letters were written, signed a copy for every person who waited in line. In Off the Planet: Surviving Five Perilous Months Aboard the Space Station Mir (McGraw-Hill, 2000), Linenger captures the story of his time aboard MIR.

Sunday evening before the CSREF concert with Grammy winners Diamond Rio, we found friends at the IACS reception at the Morgan Street Brewery - a little darts, a little tabletop shuffle board, a little pool - a lot of fun and refreshment - in the Lager Room (where we were)

. . . and a great time was had by
all.
Sorry if we didn't catch you this year on film, but we'll try again next year. Some of us experienced dead digital cameras in the middle of the show and hadn't brought our battery rechargers. Next year we will. Learn and live. p.s. You can always catch yourself on film and send us the results.
If you have pictures from this year's annual NACS/CAMEX meeting in St. Louis, MO (March 5-12, 2003), please send copies of them with a brief description to us, and we'll post them (well, the acceptable ones) so everybody can enjoy the moment. Connect2One meeting/events and other events held during CAMEX photos are good, too.
