gotcha . . . again! The Chateau of Bloomington - IACS Fall Meeting, October, 2003

Sunday Afternoon, October 12th

Registration

Will Bredfield (University of Illinois-Champaign/Urbana) & Kathleen O'Brien (Moraine Valley College) were two of several who greeted arrivals and gave out registration materials - with Will & Kathleen we see Lynn Durin (Kishwaukee Community College) and IACS Vice President Lauren Sandberg (Illinois Valley Community College) - Hanging out in the registration lounge we also found ? ( ), ? ( ), K.J. Johnson (Western Illinois University), John Bloecher (J. Bloecher Marketing Inc.), Steve Kolacki, Jason Inglis (both at Elgin Community College), and Madonna Slife (Shawnee Community College), plus Linda Kehm enjoying her retirement (former manager at Elgin Community College)!

Bookstore Olympics

Jennifer Jones () and IACS President Sonda Reinartz (Black Hawk College), Madonna, Lynn, Lauren, & Linda look like they're trying to decide whether to observe or to participate in the Bookstore Olympics - Olympics organizer Cathie Scherman (McHenry County College), with help from Jason and the skeptical glances of several potential participants, prepares for the first event of the games - "The Full-O-Textbooks Handcart Obstacle Relay Race" (each cart had the exact same textbooks thanks to Christy Monroe (Follett Higher Education Group)

. . . which didn't really go too well for some, but Kelly Strossner (Elgin Community College) showed everyone how it's done

Bookstores Tour

Illinois Wesleyan University Bookstore - On the steps outside the bookstore we caught most of the early attendees

ISU Barnes & Noble University Bookstore - sorry, no pics

The Alamo II Bookstore
- Talk about location! The Alamo II, an independent privately owned store, is located right in the heart of the Illinois State University campus - we see Will and Rich Seiler (Harper College) going in and the line up for the great hors d'oeuvres and refreshments offered by our gracious Alamo hosts and hostesses

Not only did we get a great reception and look at the main floor of the Alamo, some of us got to see the deep, dark, (some would say) dank underbelly of the store as well - Hey, What happened? Where'd everybody go?
