Seiler, Harper College Bookstore - New Certified Collegiate Retailer (CCR)!
IACS is pleased to congratulate Rich as
one of the first college store professionals to pass the 200 question test in
the new NACS Certified Collegiate Retailer (CCR) professional development
program. This certification is the successor to the College Store Professional

Will Bredfield Named Trustee for National Association of College Stores
NACS Board of Trustees - Trustee
Oberlin, OH – Willard Bredfield, CSP, director of the Illini Union Bookstore, University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, was installed as a trustee on the board of the National Association of College Stores (NACS) during the Association’s Annual Business Meeting on March 10. NACS is the professional trade association representing the more than $11 billion higher education retailing industry.
As a trustee, Bredfield will help
provide governance for the Association’s more than 4,000 members and will
assist the organization in its mission of enhancing college stores through
education, advocacy and the utilization of new technologies.
Bredfield served as a member of the CAMEX 2003 Host Committee and numerous NACS committees including the College Store Evaluation Committee, the Nominating Committee and the Financial Survey Committee. Bredfield has been active over the years on many committees with the Illinois Association of College Stores. He has also served on the association's Board of Directors, and held every office in the organization, including President.
Bredfield’s term began concurrently with the Association’s Annual Meeting and trade show, CAMEX, held in St. Louis March 7-11, 2003

IACS was saddened to learn that
Ann Pierce, long time manager of the Kishwaukee College Bookstore passed away
Thursday night, December 12, 2002, at her home in Rochelle. She had fought a gallant battle with
cancer for nearly eight years. Her health had deteriorated a great deal
the past several months, and she decided to retire on November 30. Ann was very active in IACS and served on the IACS board consecutively as
Secretary, Treasurer, Vice-President, and President between 1990 and
1994.

Commons in DeKalb.
Linda Kehm, Manager of Elgin Community College Bookstore, is retiring in
September but will continue working part-time.
Kathy O'Brien is the new Manager at Moraine Valley College Bookstore.
Alice Paul is now the Trade Book/Software Buyer at Harper College
Bookstore in Palatine.
Beverly Roeschel retired April 30, 2002 from her position as General
Merchandise Buyer at Harper College Bookstore.
Doris Seats retired April 1, 2002 from Village Commons Bookstore in
DeKalb from her position as Soft Goods/School Supplies Buyer.
Kashif Shah has moved to Director of Auxiliary Services at Moraine
Valley.

I-Champaign/Urbana)
The Illini Union Bookstore is highlighted in "Faculty Written,
Bookstore Promoted," The College Store, p. 43ff. The bookstore
created "The Authors Corner," a conference/event room dedicated
to displaying faculty and local authors, and showcasing books published by the
University of Illinois Press. Great picture of the room on p. 44. Talk
about faculty focus!
